Sedation dentistry
When your child feels anxious about dental care, you deserve a team that listens. Our dentists take time to understand your child’s concerns and explain whether a sedation option may be appropriate for the planned treatment.
Every little ninja belongs here.
Questions, wiggles, worries, and all. Your child doesn’t have to be fearless to be a Smile Ninja.
Your questions. Your child’s care.
We will discuss your child’s health history, the procedure, available options, and the instructions that apply to their care. Ask about what to expect before and after the visit. Oral sedation is available for ages 3 and up at both offices; IV sedation is available for ages 13 and up at Camp Bowie only, when clinically appropriate.
Oral sedation
Ages 3 and up · Both offices
Discuss your child’s needs with the dentist before scheduling sedation.
IV sedation
Ages 13 and up · Camp Bowie only
Your dentist will evaluate whether this option is appropriate.
A little preparation, a more confident visit
Before a sedation appointment, we’ll talk with you about your child’s health history, medications, past experiences, and comfort needs. Bring your questions—we want you to understand the plan.
Follow the eating, drinking, medication, and aftercare instructions provided specifically for your child. If anything is unclear, call us before the appointment. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Questions to bring to the visit
- Which comfort options fit my child’s health history and treatment?
- What preparation and aftercare instructions should we follow?
- Which office should we choose, and what will the care cost?
Choose your office
Kind words. One clear voice. No shame.
Our team is experienced in working with children. We use patience, age-appropriate words, and kind encouragement to help your child participate in care. Share what helps them communicate and feel comfortable.
Let the team lead with one clear voice, rather than giving your child competing instructions. Always speak up about an immediate concern. We discuss your child’s individual needs with you.
We won’t shame you or your child about cavities. Our focus is explaining what we find, the recommended care, and the next steps.
